Contracted by FAO of the United Nations to co-instruct a workshops on deep-sea chondrichthyans at the Albion Fisheries Research Centre on the island of Mauritius in June 2014 following his latest trip to the Southern Indian Ocean to further study chondricthyan biodiversity in the area. The workshop included, but was not limited to, teaching other scientists methods of research and data collect on deep-sea sharks as developed and written by Paul Clerkin.
Mentored six UROC interns. Supervised research activities and guided the development of critical thinking skills. Provided training in proposal writing and coached presentation rehearsals.
Provided laboratory instruction in shark anatomy at MOI during shore side portion of Indian Ocean expedition.
