Award $400 for travel to the 2015 Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists in Reno, Nevada.
The Lerner-Gray Grants for Marine Research provide financial assistance to highly
qualified persons starting careers in marine zoology. Support is limited to projects
dealing with systematics, evolution, ecology and field-oriented behavioral studies of
marine animals. Awards are not made to support research in botany and biochemistry.
Under the terms of the will of Ethel M. Myers, a Trust has been established to award grants for the enhancement of studies in the marine sciences, including conservation and science education. The target awardees are Master’s Degree and Ph.D. candidates, or other persons deemed worthy by the Trustees. Limited consideration may be given to undergraduates. Post Doctoral researchers will
not be considered. All awards shall be made without the obligationof repayment. The average award is approximately $1000- $2000 depending in part on the number of proposals funded and the income available to the Trust. Students will only be funded once for a given degree.
