Atlantic Ocean

I conduct research in the Atlantic using environmental DNA techniques combined with traditional “catch and release” surveying of sharks and marine animals. I have worked with the Virginia Institute of Marine Science’s Shark Longline (the longest ongoing shark survey in the country) as well as expeditions in the gulf coast and eastern coast of the U.S. with the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). I have also worked on board the Nansen to collect data in the South East Atlantic near the horn of Africa. Below you can see photographs and video footage from these research trips that I took.
